Fortinet Discovers WordPress Gallery PhotoBlocks Plugin Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability
Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in WordPress Gallery PhotoBlocks Plugin.
Gallery Photoblocks is an image and photo gallery plugin that allows users to make galleries with justified edges and lightbox (zoom) features. The plugin has over 4000+ installations and comes with a handy builder that enables easy customization.
The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of gallery name parameter and image caption parameter. A remote attacker (any authenticated low privileged user) can exploit this to execute arbitrary script code within the context of the application.
