Fortinet Discovers WordPress Safe SVG Plugin Denial Of Service Bypass Vulnerability

Summary

Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered a Denial Of Service vulnerability in Safe SVG plugin for WordPress.

Safe SVG is the best way to Allow SVG Uploads in WordPress! It gives you the ability to allow SVG uploads whilst making sure that they're sanitized to stop SVG/XML vulnerabilities affecting your site.

A Denial Of Service vulnerability exists in the Safe SVG plugin for WordPress version 1.9.4 and below. Denial of service of user browsing session occurs upon successful exploitation of the vulnerability.

Fortinet reported the vulnerability to SafeSVG on 26 September, 2019. 

SafeSVG confirmed the vulnerability on 10 October, 2019. 

SafeSVG released patch for the vulnerability on 4 November, 2019.
