MS.Word.MCW.FileHandler.Buffer.Overflow

description-logoDescription

This indicates a possible exploit of a "buffer overflow vulnerability" in Microsoft Word.
Microsoft Word is the most popular application for creating and sharing documents. The files with .mcw extensions are ms-word format files for Macintosh computers. A buffer overflow vulnerability is reported in it that may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the vulnerable system. An attacker may exploit this by crafting a word document with mcw format and send it to a victim via email or web link. When a victim opens this malformed file, the malicious code embedded in the word document will be executed on the victims system, leading to system compromise.
