Fortinet Discovers Nagios Business Process Intelligence Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Vulnerability

Summary

Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Nagios Business Process Intelligence (BPI).
Nagios BPI is an advanced grouping tool that allows you to set more complex dependencies to determine groups' states. Nagios XI installs this tool by default. This tool can also be installed manually as a component of the products Nagios Core and Nagios Fusion.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficiently sanitizing user-supplied data in HTTP request sent to index.php so that remote attackers can exploit it to launch a reflected XSS attack by enticing the target user to visit a malicious URL.
