Fortinet Discovers Sweetscape 010Editor Memory Corruption Vulnerability

Summary

Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered a memory corruption vulnerability in Sweetscape 010Editor.


010Editor is a commercial hex editor and text editor for Microsoft Windows, Linux and macOS. Typically 010Editor is used to edit text files, binary files, tagged data, source code, shell scripts, log files, etc.


A memory corruption vulnerability has been discovered in SweetScape 010Editor 9.0.2. The vulnerability exists because the vulnerable software can't correctly parse a crafted binary file when receiving a Ctrl+A event. It could lead to arbitrary code execution.
