FTP.Client.PASV.Stack.Overflow

Description

This indicates an attack attempt against a buffer-overflow vulnerability in FTP clients which could be caused by an error when the vulnerable software handles a malicious PASV response packet. It allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code by sending a crafted long FTP response packet.

Affected Products

Any FTP client which is vulnerable to PASV long string response from FTP server.

Impact

System Compromise: Remote attackers can gain control of vulnerable systems.
