Publications[BSides Munich 2020] Hacking Your Smart Coffee Machine
This talk explains the making of Ph0wn CTF 2019 "Me Want Coffee" challenge. In this challenge, participants were expected to hack a smart coffee machine to (1) brew coffee without the official app and (2) customize the size of cups (feature unavailable through the app).
To do so, we go through Bluetooth Low Energy (especially authentication and authorization) - authorization is a feature seldom encountered and therefore very interesting! - and the understanding of the Android app.
